Camden Giving Week – raising awareness of poverty and inequality in Camden

16 Apr 2018

Lockside Camden are honoured to be working with Camden Giving to support their work in ending poverty and inequality in London.

· A third of children in Camden live in poverty

· There’s a ten year difference in life expectancy between those in the poorest wards and those in the wealthiest

· Silverline, the national phoneline for lonely older people, receives more calls from Camden than from anywhere in the country

As a business whose sole purpose is to bring people of all backgrounds together, this make for bleak reading.

So we’re very proud to be playing our small part in helping Camden Giving, and some of the projects they fund, work towards fighting these statistics.

Bringing people together

Camden Giving Week runs from 21-27 May and the week sees a whole plethora of exciting activity around the Borough.

Lockside Camden will be creating, with the help of the Camden Giving team, a bespoke cocktail that will sell exclusively throughout the week, with ALL PROFITS going to towards the £20,000 they are hoping to raise.

SKIP GARDEN FAMILY SATURDAYS at King’s Cross

We will also be hosting a special one-off Quiz Night on Weds 23rd May with all proceeds from entry fees and an exclusive raffle going to Camden Giving. Prizes include a £350 wine tasting experience from Waitrose, a £50 bar tab, loads of Camden Town Brewery goodies and much more. The quiz will start at 8pm with entry submissions from 7pm. Entry is £20 per team, with a maximum of 6 people per team. And the theme will be, of course, all things Camden.

If you want to support Camden Giving and the fantastic work they do, then pop along to Lockside Camden from 21-27 May and buy the Camden Giving Cocktail or why not enter a team into the quiz?
